Pollen Down–Time to Run

I could of have been running the past several months, nothing actually stopped me from doing it.  Allergies and pollen levels certainly prevented me from running outside, but that’s not the same as avoiding running at all.  Regardless of the reason, the fact is that today was my first day running in.

“Running” is a relative term, it was mostly walking fast, but it was really all about keeping my heart rate in the 135-165 range as long as I could.  Which translated into lots of walking and not a lot of running, not even “just” on the downhill parts.  That’s okay though, it was just under five miles.  It was the first time that I’ve gone that far in some time.  Even though I was mostly walking and could barely get a run for 30 seconds before my heart rate went to far, it still felt great to get outside and running.  I look forward to getting out, even if just for a walk, tomorrow or the next day.  Time to get my butt in gear :).
